The Amateur Geological Society of the Hunter Valley (AGSHV) is made up of people who live in the Hunter Valley of NSW Australia that have a broad range of interests and expertise in Geology.
The AGSHV is a non-profit organisation supporting the community of all ages by providing a society catering to people with shared interests in Geology, Photography, History, Bushwalking and Travel.
The AGSHV freely passes on its knowledge to community members who are interested in understanding geology and the environment around them along with the importance of its preservation.
The Society promotes teamwork and a strong social bond amongst its members by the shared participation in its various activities.
Most activities are for one day (Hunter Valley) but activities held some distance away may range from two days to several weeks. eg Tasmania trip of 3 weeks.
Membership is open to people of all ages. 'Membership Application Form'
All members receive a Monthly Notices.
At the end of the year reports on our activities are compiled into 'Geo-Log' and a hard copy distributed to members who request one. Past Geo-Logs can be accessed on our website.
You will also find details of upcoming activities you may like to participate in. Visitors are most welcome to attend our activities.
